Bottom 10: Practices to Avoid in Health Care Transformation

As Canadian Doctors for Medicare illustrated in its Top 10, there are many ideas that have been shown to improve quality and efficiency while preserving or improving equity in our health care system. These are not those ideas. Evidence shows that some practices and ideas undermine the quality and stability of our health care system. Below are the “Bottom 10” ideas that have been shown, time and again, to take health care transformation toward a dead end.
