Canadian Doctors for Medicare expressed its support today for the Canadian Medical Association’s decision not to participate in a Federal Government advertising campaign about marijuana use.
“While we appreciate the importance of the topic, we also recognize the highly politicized nature of this issue,” said CDM Chair Dr. Monika Dutt. “As physicians we have an obligation to make decisions guided by the evidence of what is best for patients, and avoid having ideology cloud choices about care.”
Canadian Doctors for Medicare is a national, membership‐based organization that provides a voice for Canadian doctors who want to strengthen and improve Canada's universal health care system in a way that benefits all Canadians.
