Private MRIs will hurt, not help, Saskatchewan health care

Speaking to a reporter from the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, Dr. Ryan Meili challenged the Saskatchewan government's assertion that private MRIs will reduce costs and alleviate wait times in the province, when all evidence points to the contrary.

“Along with patients, you pull the doctors and pull the other technicians out of the public system and that tends to actually increase wait times,” Meili said, pointing to provinces like Alberta, where private MRIs exist but wait times remain.
